Family Photos on the Cahaba are exquisite! Like finding a diamond in the rough, I stumbled upon this beautiful location in the heart of Trussville, Alabama. The family’s color coordination was pure perfection! Photographing the Rahman family made for a delightful afternoon and a picturesque session!

One of the most enjoyable aspects of my photography business is getting to know the families I photograph. For these family photos on the Cahaba, Jareen expressed her concern with her little girl not being able to sit up well. Because I photograph families so often, I knew exactly how to handle this situation! Over the years, I have purchased and collected several props to better serve my clients. For this family photo session, I used a basket and a wooden crate to help support the Rahman’s daughter and the pictures turned out perfect!!
Comfort Matters in family photos!
While talking to Jareen and learning more about her family, she let me in on a little secret. She has always felt awkward in family photo sessions and wasn’t sure how these would turn out. I reassured her that we would get some great shots of her family and boy, did we! As the session went on, I told Jareen just what to do. I knew if I guided her she would find comfort in knowing that I was taking all of the guess work out of her photo session! I always want my clients to feel comfortable during their sessions. Getting to know them a little better and being a guide for them keeps the session pleasant and enjoyable for everyone!
Rain, Rain, Go Away!
The photo session I originally scheduled with the Rahman family was in March. As it does in Alabama at times, the weather reared its ugly head and rained out our first session. Fortunately, I know the importance of leaving space in my schedule for rainy day cancelations! This is something I do year-round to accommodate my clients.
