Maternity photo sessions are my favorite type of sessions to shoot! There is something special about an expectant mother so close to meeting her new miracle. I have never experienced a maternity photo session where the mother wasn’t glowing! This held true for the Engle family.
Location Isn’t Everything; Clients Are!
My goal as a photographer is to take the beautiful families that are my clients and create amazing memories no matter where we shoot. For this session in particular, we used two separate locations. In some of the photos you will see throughout this post, including the ones above, we were in a beautiful open field in Trussville, AL. It isn’t unusual to find an open field that offers a gorgeous set up for maternity photo sessions. What is rare is to use an old parking lot for a photo session and get amazing shots like you see in the pictures below!
The Cold Never Bothered Her Anyway!
The best part about this maternity photo session is that is was freezing cold, yet we captured some incredibly sweet shots! As any mom would be, Katie was uncertain of how her little girl would handle the cold weather. Because I experience photo sessions with children so often, we were able to get smiles, snuggles and even a few giggles before the session was over. There is no doubt that the weather was frigid, but the final pictures were worth every shiver!
